Death's-Head Hawk Moth
The Death's-Head Hawk Moth is a moth of the Sphingidae family and one of the more striking moths that have been known to mankind. Though it has a rather sinister name, this one of natures most captivating creatures in my opinion.
The name 'Death's-Head' might make you think that this fascinating creature is associated with death and darkness, but it actually refers only to its distinctive patterning. Its real meaning comes from its association with transformation: throughout history and across cultures around the world, people have seen this moth as a symbol for change or transformation—from life into death or vice versa; from darkness into light; even from ignorance into knowledge (perhaps).

These sterling silver moths celebrate the beauty of both death and life, for each feeds off of the other in order for us to survive on this planet.
